Art Dubai Returns This May To Madinat Jumeirah For A Special Edition; Details Inside

Art Dubai is one of the leading fairs in the region. And it is returning to Medinat Jumeirah this May. Yes, it will be returning from May 15th to 17th for a special edition, and if you are also curious about the upcoming event, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming fiesta for art enthusiasts.

Art Dubai Returns In May

If you happen to be someone who appreciates art or happen to be an artist yourself, then you will want to know that Art Dubai is making its return from May 15th – 17th. This is a 20-year-old annual event, and the VIP preview will also take place on May 14th, as mentioned in a report of the Gulf News. Public hours vary from those of VIP hours.

But it is worth mentioning that this edition is somewhat different. It showcases an ambitious programme of commissions, exhibitions, performances, and screening, and large-scale installations. All of this is being delivered in partnership with the leading galleries and cultural institutions in the UAE. Featuring more than 75 presentations, these will be from commercial galleries, institutional participants and partners.

Highlights Of The Event

This is a special edition, and it demonstrates the resilience of the cultural scene in the UAE. And the programme highlights include the 20th edition of Art Dubai’s flagship Global Art Forum, which is commissioned by Shumon Basar. An exhibition of modern Arab art from the Barjeel Art Foundation also features highlights from the collection.

Made Forward, which is another major presentation from the Dubai Collection, it is the city’s first institutional collection of modern and contemporary art. They will also be a program of large-scale installations, new commissions, and site-responsive artworks, which include works by popular artists such as Khalid Al Banna, Hashel Al Lamki, and Kevork Murad. Finally, a performance-led program with Sharjah Art Foundation is another highlight that you wouldn’t want to miss.

While there are many other events planned, such as a programme of moving images curated with Alserkal Avenue, daily talks, activations, and live moments, this is truly an event that people in the city wouldn’t want to miss.

When: May 15th: 2 pm to 4 pm (VIP Hours) & 4 pm to 9 pm (Public Hours), May 16th: 2 pm to 9 pm & May 17th: 10 am to 12 pm (VIP hours) & 12 pm to 6 pm (Public hours)
