Billie Eilish Gives Viral Dubai Chocolate A Vegan Twist And Netizens Are Divided!

Food trends don’t usually make the jump from a tiny kitchen in Dubai to the hands of global superstars in just a few years, but this one did. The pistachio-filled Dubai chocolate bar that blew up on TikTok has found a new fan, Billie Eilish. True to her plant-based lifestyle, the singer has given it a vegan makeover, and of course, she shared the process with her followers.

Her TikTok video, just over a minute long, is far from a glossy cooking show. She starts by toasting dokme tel kadayıf, those fine, crunchy strands of pastry you usually spot in kunafa or baklava. They catch colour quickly, turning golden in the pan. She doesn’t just toast the strands and stop there. Billie stirs them together with pistachio spread until the whole thing turns into a rich, green paste. It’s not fancy, but it looks indulgent. Then comes the fun part: she pours melted vegan chocolate into a mould, spoons in that pistachio mix, and seals it off with another layer of chocolate. Once set in the fridge, the bar comes out looking perfectly edible and mimicking the actual Dubai Viral chocolate.

Laughing, she points out a rough edge where the chocolate didn’t set perfectly. “Didn’t nail the side,” she says, before biting into it anyway. It holds together, and honestly, the filling looks spot on.

From Dubai To Hollywood Kitchens, Not Just Billie Eilish Catching Dubai Chocolate Trend!

Billie’s version is the latest in a line of celebrity encounters with the treat. Brooklyn Beckham tried his hand at it earlier this year. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi filmed themselves tasting it too, with Jake admitting he’d happily polish off five in one sitting.

Retailers Catch On

It didn’t take long before supermarkets joined the rush. UK chains like Waitrose and Marks & Spencer started selling their own Dubai-style pistachio bars, with Waitrose at one stage rationing purchases because shelves were emptying too fast. Smaller players got involved, too. Maison Samadi, the Lebanese chocolatier with heritage status, crafted its own bar, blending kunafa and pistachio into what many foodies now call the “elite” version. Model and presenter Leomie Anderson even gave it her seal of approval.
