SpiceJet Flight To Dubai Delayed By Nearly 18 Hours
On Sunday, August 30th, it was a chaotic scene at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport. Passengers started to raise slogans against SpiceJet and demanded answers after their flight departure for Dubai was delayed by nearly 18 hours. As revealed in a report by The Times of India, some passengers even sought refunds after they were left stranded at the airport for hours. This flight, which was scheduled to depart at 8:30 AM, was delayed until 11:40 AM. Passengers were then told that it would leave at 2 PM; however, they were later informed that this departure had been pushed to 2 AM for the next day.
Passengers Left Hassled
Several passengers were left hassled! After all, one was supposed to report for duty the other was travelling with their six-year-old daughter. Many passengers also made allegations that the SpiceJet staff did not make any arrangement for accommodation even though there was such a long delay. The passengers claimed, however, they were not even properly informed about the entitlement to a hotel under the applicable DGCA passenger rights provisions. Due to this delay, it was a difficult situation for passengers who were travelling with young children.
In another report in India Today, it was revealed how passengers were left stranded with poor communication. They even mentioned how, when they approached the airline about the accommodation, they were allegedly not given a hotel room. With passengers forced to spend several additional hours at the airport, many were also travelling with children, which made the waiting even more difficult.

Another SpiceJet Flight From Pune Had Been Delayed Recently
Just recently, another SpiceJet flight, which was supposed to fly from Pune to Dubai, was delayed by more than four hours. This flight SG51 was scheduled to depart on the evening of August 25th at 9 PM. However, the flight eventually ended up taking off from Pune at 1:23 AM, the next day as revealed in a report of Indian Express.
Such a flight delay truly ends up being a hassle for passengers who are left waiting at the airport. After all, many are travelling for work purposes, vacation or with young children, which makes this waiting even more tedious for them.
