1. Foreign-Owned Firms To Hire Omani Staff Within First Year

In a recent mandate by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion in Oman, foreign-owned businesses must employ at least one Omani worker within a year. Reinforcing Omanisation requirements for foreign-owned businesses, the rules are stated under the Executive Regulations of the Foreign Capital Investment Law.

2. Kalba Medical Fitness Centre Opens In Sharjah

Sharjah Municipality has opened the Kalba Medical Fitness Centre. This marks a step in expanding public health services. The new centre will offer medical examination services for residency and professional health cards. As a result, it is bound to serve a wide segment of the community.

3. Dubai Schools Issue Influenza Guidelines

With the flu season here, Dubai schools have issued an updated influenza guideline. Parents have been urged to keep their sick children at home and to only send them back after they have been symptom-free for 24 hours, without any medication.

4. Saudi Arabia Sets Municipal Fine Up To SAR2 Million

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has approved updated executive rules. These are for municipal violations and have therefore introduced a framework for fines and penalties. Under the new rules, violations that are classified as serious or not serious will have a range of financial fines and even temporary closures or license revocation. These fines could reach up to SAR2 million for serious violations and up to SAR1 million for others.

5. Dolce and Gabbana Pop-Up At Atlantis The Royal

There’s a limited-time Dolce and Gabbana pop-up happening at Atlantis The Royal. Taking place at the Cloud 22 sky pool, it has been transformed with the new carretto siciliano print of the brand. The pop-up is available daily from 10 AM to 7 PM, and there are even moonlight sessions from Wednesday to Saturday from 7 PM to 11 PM.
