We all are aware of the ongoing construction of the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. All the major preparations of the temple are going on in full swing and we cannot wait to visit there soon. But before the doors to the Ayodhya temple open, we can now get to see glimpses and snippets of that place in Kolkata. But how? Well, the theme of a popular Durga Puja puja pandal of Kolkata is this temple and we are very excited to go for pandal hopping there.

If you have ever been to Kolkata during the grand festival and went on a pandal hopping spree, you must have visited Santosh Mitra Square Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity pandal. Santosh Mitra Square Puja Committee is organising the magnificent pandal with the theme of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. To bring the imagination to life, huge statues and decor have been added to the pandal for the perfect recreation. From the statues of Lord Ram to Lord Hanuman, the recreation theme looks absolutely magnificent. The spectacular visuals of the pandal look incredible making it a must-visit pandal this year.

Various stories of Lord Ram’s life have been beautifully depicted on the walls of the pandal. From plywood to fibre to thermocol, different items have been used to add intricate designs to the puja pandal. The designs and intricacies are so exquisite that it will be difficult to identify the items used behind constructing all the smallest of designs.

The North Kolkata pandal manages to be in the headlines each and every year for its unique themes and spendid idols of Maa Durga and her children; Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartikeya.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to inaugurate the Santosh Mitra Square Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity pandal in Kolkata, according to a report by Hindustan Times. He is inaugurating the pandal on October 16.

Another Must-Visit Pandal To Vist This Year; College Square Pandal!

This year, College Square is celebrating its 76th year of Durga Puja celebrations. Located close to Santosh Mitra Square Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity, this is another iconic puja pandal of North Kolkata. The theme of this year is the historical Mysore Palace and the extravagant pandal looks breathtaking. The intricacies of the interiors are an absolute bliss to the eyes. Visitors can enter the pandal from Tritiya, on October 17.
