When they say one needs to be in West Bengal during Durga Puja to witness the surreal magnificence and grandeur of celebrations, they are right. No pictures, videos, or drone shots can do justice to what devotees see here. This year, a club in Sodepur registered an incredible record for showcasing the world’s tallest Durga idol. The splendour of extravagant sculptures and vibrant lights dazzle up the renowned place.
Head To Sahid Colony For The World’s Tallest Durga Idol
Nestled in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, this city is quite close to the bustling Kolkata city. In the past few years, Sodepur gained recognition for its splendid Durga Puja festivities. This year, it crossed all past records and expectations and established its name globally for celebrating pujo with the tallest idols of Maa Durga and her children. And the credit for the spectacular record goes to Sahid Colony Sarbojanin Sarodotsab.
The extravagant idol of Maa Durga measures 100 feet in height and it has been decorated extraordinarily with glamorous lights, excellent intricacies, and magnificent art installations, showcasing the most wonderful representations of exquisite craftsmanship. One of the biggest highlights here is the sequence of lights dazzling up the entire structure. Besides, the idols of Maa Durga and her children frame the entire pandal’s outer structure’s front visuals.
Several door-like ways have been established in the pandal to make way for visitors to enter inside and check out the impressive interiors. Decked up with bright lights, elegant installations, and breathtaking art pieces on walls, the surroundings reflect a royal ambience. In addition, a beautiful idol of Maa Durga with Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha and Kartikeya is placed inside the pandal. The idols have been ornamented with the iconic daker saaj.
