If you have ever dreamt of working in the US, you surely have heard about H-1B visas. This non-immigrant visa is a necessity for employers to employ highly educated foreign professionals in speciality occupations. Netizens often discuss this system on social media platforms and a similar conversation was ongoing on the X platform. Elon Musk surprised everyone by sharing his views on the H-1B visa system. What does he think of the programme?
Elon Musk Shared Strong Opinions About The H-1B Visa System
Musk responded to Robert Sterling’s X post and shared his point of view about this much-talked-about visa.
Just a few days ago, the tech billionaire grabbed everyone’s attention after his statement on him vowing to go to war to defend the H-1B visa system. Replying to an X thread, he reacted to this visa programme for foreign professionals to work in the USA.
Robert Sterling shared interesting facts highlighting different aspects of this system. Elaborating on his points, he stated “America needs to be a destination for the world’s most elite talent. But the H-1B programme isn’t the way to do that.” None other than Elon Musk reacted to this statement and shared his perspective on the H-1B visa system.
He responded to Sterling sharing that this issue can be fixed easily by increasing the minimum salary significantly. Also, an annual cost to maintain the H1B needs to be added. These steps will make the hiring process from overseas countries “materially more expensive” than domestically. Musk further added how he has been very clear about the programme being broken. It needs major reform, he also stated. Interestingly, Elon shifted to the USA and migrated from South Africa with an H-1B visa.
Musk To Join Donald Trump Administration
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, an Indian-American tech entrepreneur, will be a part of Donald Trump’s administration in the USA. Recently, they were seen supporting the H1-B visa programme and clashing with supporters of Trump about the issue of immigration.
