When it comes to flying, Emirates ticks every imaginable box, according to Telegraph Travel’s detailed study. The airline took top marks across more than 30 key criteria, ranging from fleet age and baggage allowances to in-flight meals and airport quality. Here’s a sneak peek at what makes this airline stand out:

  1. Fleet power: Emirates boasts the largest fleet of Airbus A380s, passengers’ favourite for spacious cabins and unmatched legroom in all classes.
  2. Luxury at every level: Its premium economy is hailed as the best in the skies, while first-class passengers enjoy private suites, five-star wine lists, and even onboard showers.
  3. Extra perks: Business-class travellers receive chauffeur services, a vanishing luxury among competitors.
  4. Global reach: Emirates’ route network connects 140 cities in 77 countries—now that’s some serious sky mileage. With punctuality and inflight dining also scoring high, it’s no wonder Emirates has scooped up 19 additional awards in 2024 alone.

Middle East Carriers Are Flying High

The Telegraph Travel study gave a nod to other regional giants too. Qatar Airways snagged a top spot thanks to its celebrated Q Suite, claiming the best business class in the world. Not content to rest on its laurels, Qatar is also launching a new first-class experience set to “redefine luxury.”

Etihad, the boutique charmer of the UAE’s airline trio, secured ninth place. With newly revamped Boeing 787s and A350s, the airline shines in areas like punctuality, legroom, and mouth-watering onboard cuisine.

Meanwhile, Oman Air and Saudia made impressive climbs, signalling the strength of Middle Eastern airlines on the global stage.
