Airlines have their own set of rules and regulations in place for the kind of goods you can carry in your luggage. Oftentimes, these regulations are the result of a policy that they may follow or abiding by the safety precautions that are needed while flying in an aircraft. And now, Emirates has issued a reminder for carrying personal electronic devices. Here’s all you need to know about this advisory.

Emirates has issued an advisory reminding people about the airline’s guidelines. Yes, passengers can carry or check in up to 15 PEDs. However, these must be packed separately and cannot be attached to the devices. Moreover, as revealed in a report by the Gulf News, if the item is poorly packaged or exceeds the limit, then it may be confiscated.

In addition to this, personal motorised devices, such as smartbags, mini segways and even hoverboards, are prohibited. These are not allowed for their large lithium batteries. In fact, these items cannot be checked in or carried as hand luggage. This rule has been put in place even if other airlines allow the same. It should be noted that passengers must review the customs regulations. Yes, they must check-in their list for restricted items, such as electronics, alcohol, cigarettes, and even medication. It is advisable to do so as the rules followed by each country may differ.

  • Finally, UAE has zero policy on drugs, and even small quantities of such illegal substances can lead to severe fines.
