Etihad Airways Updates Travel Rules For UK Passengers, Here’s Everything You Need To Know

The new covid-19 strain is mutating in the UK. And that is now a cause of concern for everyone across the globe. Around 30 countries have cut off Britain amid this new scare. Several countries have shut their borders again for international tourists. Starting today, Oman has closed its international borders for a week, whereas, Saudi Arabia has also taken stringent steps to curb the spread of the new strain. And now as per latest updates, Abu Dhabi’s national carrier, Etihad Airways has also updated its travel rules for passengers travelling from the UK. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Etihad Airways Latest Update Will Come Into Effect From December 24

As per the latest update by Etihad airways, guests flying from the UK have to present a negative PCR test within 72 hours validity of their flight departure time. The decision will come into effect from December 24, in line with an announcement by the National Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.

In a statement issued by the company, they said,

“Etihad is the only airline in the world requiring 100% of its passengers to show a negative PCR test before travelling and again on arrival into Abu Dhabi, ensuring peace of mind for all on board.”

PCR Tests Can Be Only Conducted At Government Accredited Medical Facility

For the PCR tests, all tests have to be conducted only at government accredited medical facility. For the same passengers can visit Eithad’s website to know more about the valid centres. Besides this, guests will also be required to provide evidence of the date and time the test was taken at check-in, by presenting their appointment confirmation.

Children under 12 and those with severe and moderate disabilities are, however, exempt from Covid-19 PCR testing.
