Etihad Rail Bridge Can Carry 10 Million Containers
This video showcases the UAE’s first marine railway bridge, measuring 1km in length and capable of accommodating 10 million containers annually. It was shared on the railway’s Twitter page and is focused on the Abu Dhabi segment of the route. This route is renowned for its connections to the major ports and industrial centres in the UAE, including the Khalifa Port, Kizad, and ICAD, and extends all the way to the Al Dhafra region.

This Rail Bridge Will Connect 11 Cities
The Etihad Rail will provide a convenient and cost-effective means of transporting goods. All this transportation will take place between the Emirates, the Saudi Arabian border, and the Omani border. Upon completion, the passenger train service will link 11 cities and regions in the United Arab Emirates. The link will include Al Sila, Fujairah, Al Ruwais and Al Mirfa.
The network is expected to reduce the number of car commuters between the Emirates by between 30 and 40 per cent. Additionally, the railway network will link Sohar, Oman, to Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital.
Etihad Rail further stated that the introduction of freight trains is intended to significantly improve the maritime and logistics industry’s competitiveness. This will be increasing business opportunities in the United Arab Emirates. The freight trains are now capable of transporting all types of commodities across the country. All operations are seamless and efficient manner.
