Europe Is Heating Up With Temperatures Rising Above 40°C As Cerberus Heatwave Takes Over

The heat is getting unbearably intense, however, Europeans do appreciate a little heat. Parts of Europe are being scorched by the Cerberus heatwave. Additionally, the upcoming few days may see temperatures that set records. There have been numerous incidents of tourists collapsing at popular tourist destinations around the continent as a result of the high temperatures. In fact, one guy has even passed away in northern Italy.

The intense heat has widely disrupted travel plans and sparked health-related concerns around Europe as visitors pour into the Mediterranean for another busy summer vacation. The bad news is that temperatures are expected to increase during the coming week.

It’s vital to be hydrated and acquainted about where and when it will be the warmest, as well as whether you need to spend the day indoors, to avoid having your vacation plans ruined by heat waves. With temperatures expected to surpass 50°C in some areas of the continent, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Croatia, and Turkey are the worst-affected countries in Europe.

Temperatures In Spain, Greece & Italy Is Experiencing Heatwave

Daily highs of the 30s have been recorded in Spain, and, temperatures of over 40°C are predicted for southern Spain. According to satellite measurements, the ground temperature on Friday reached over 60°C in several places.

Due to the harsh weather, ten cities that include Italy, including Florence, Bologna, and Rome, are on red alarm alert. The warmest temperatures ever recorded in Europe may be experienced on the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, where temperatures are predicted to reach as high as 48°C.

Throughout the weekend, temperatures in Greece were expected to go as high as 45°C. As major tourist locations close and work hours are changed, health issues are starting to surface among residents and visitors. Authorities in Athens have temporarily closed the Acropolis to safeguard visitors from the sweltering heat that is engulfing the old city.

Istanbul, Turkey’s capital, hit a high of 33°C on Friday, and the weekend’s temperatures are expected to remain in the 30s.
