The recent updates and news state that these claims are simply fake. Indian Railways have not made any official announcement about reintroducing the senior citizen concession while they book train tickets. So, the concussion is that news claiming the concession is false.

It is true that Indian Railways allowed the concession a couple of years back. But right now, there are no such discounts eligible for senior travellers. Back in March 2020, the authorities put an end to this concession plan and some more train ticket offers as well.

The Onmanorama report states that the decision to withdraw the senior citizen concession came into action during the outbreak of coronavirus in India. In view of the rising numbers of positive COVID-19 cases, the concerned authorities took the decision. They stopped the discount in order to control the outbreak of the disease.
