The Nepal Tourism Board recently took to its official social media handle to clear up confusion around reports of new travel restrictions on Indian tourists. In the post, it mentioned that several claims are circulating online suggesting that Nepal has introduced stricter entry rules, including mandatory identity cards, a 30-day limit on stay, and even vehicle confiscation in cases of overstaying.
However, the board strongly rejected all such claims. It stated that no new restrictions have been introduced for Indian tourists visiting. In the post, they mentioned all these reports to be “entirely false, baseless and misleading.” The board further clarified that Indian travellers can continue to enjoy the long-standing open-border arrangement between the two countries. It also confirmed that Indian tourists are not required to carry any new identity cards for entry into Nepal.
