Delhi for the Delhiites isn’t just a city, but an overwhelming emotion. Be it the charm of the lanes of old Delhi or the jovial party scenes of Hauz Khas, or the metro-rides, everything about this city, when put together, is nothing less than magical. It is that one city where the vibes of ancient India beautifully merges with all things modern. Think luxury malls, spas, pubs, technology hubs, they exist side by side out here along with some of the best historical structures like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, India Gate and Jama Masjid, to name a few. 1. Rockstar

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer 2011 film Rockstar had received mixed reactions in the box office, but most of it was shot across the Capital city. Noteworthy among them were Delhi University and the Nizamuddin Dargah, where the song ‘Kun Faya Kun’ was shot. The scenes of the movie will also take you to many other places in Delhi like Hauz Khas Fort, Greater Kailash, Munirka, Connaught place, Kotla Mubarakpur and parts of St. Stephen’s College, Shri Ram College of Commerce and Hindu College.

2. Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

The 2011 romantic comedy movie was loved by many, and watching it now will bring back the memories of those late-night drives by the India Gate. Parts of the movie were also shot Connaught place and a farmhouse in South Delhi. The song ‘Choomantar’ has marvellously captured the Humayun’s Tomb. The iconic historical structure was also the shooting spot for other Bollywood movies like Kurbaan, Fitoor and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

3. Pyar Ka Punchnama

The filming of this movie took place almost entirely in Delhi and Gurgaon. If anyone is missing office, especially Gurgoan’s DLF Cyberhub, this movie is for them. So watch it out one more time with your family to laugh your heart out and also please your eyes with the glimpses of the city.

4. PK

The Rajkumar Hirani 2014-hit had some of the major scenes shot at the Agrasen ki Baoli in Hailey Road.  Apart from transporting you to Bruges, Belgium for some time, the movie will remind you about the famous open-air cultural market of the Capital, the Dilli Haat and more importantly, the lifeline of the city, the Delhi Metro.

5. Delhi-6

Delhi-6, the 2009 Indian drama film is true to its name. Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, the movie has breathtakingly captured the magnificent Jama Masjid. Many scenes of purani Dilli in this movie were actually recreated in Sambhar, Rajasthan. The way it has portrayed the city, right from the iconic jalebis of Chandni Chowk to the scenes of the Red Fort and Connaught Place, will win the heart of every true Delhiite.

6. Vicky Donor

The story of this 2012 movie is set in Dariyaganj, New Delhi, where the protagonist, Vicky Arora a.k.a. Ayushman Khurana, hailing from Lajpat Nagar, runs his fertility clinic. Some scenes of the song ‘Pani Da Rang’ were filmed in Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.

7. Micky Virus

This comedy thriller revolves around the story of a Delhi-based hacker and is a great one-time watch. It will take you to the bustling market of Nehru place, and you will suddenly remember the fun of those haggles over the repair of a laptop or an old phone. The movie had many new faces. Several big stars of Bollywood like Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit had appeared in one of its promotional videos.

8. Band Baaja Baarat

This movie will take the alumnus of Hansraj College back to their campus lives, especially with the song ‘Tarkeebein’. It was also the first movie of the nation’s heartthrob, Ranveer Singh, with Anushka Sharma in the opposite. Some other scenes of the movie feature Miranda House and Kikorimal College. It also features a tree of North Campus beneath which Ranveer and Anushka are seen enjoying bread pakode.
