Fire Erupts On Turin-Bound Ryanair Flight At Brindisi Airport; Almost 200 Passengers Deboard The Aircraft

In a shocking turn of events, a Ryanair Boeing flight caught fire right before taking off from Brindisi Airport in Italy. Some cabin crew members noticed fumes coming out of the aircraft and promptly took steps to prevent any unfortunate mishaps. Over 180 passengers boarded the jet on Thursday to travel to Turin. Cabin Crew Observed Fumes & Fire Outside A Ryanair Flight

Taking to X, Air Safety #OTD by Francisco Cunha (@OnDisasters) shared pictures and videos of the fire-caught plane.

Thankfully, the cabin crew observed the fumes emitting outside the plane and they could take action at the earliest. According to a CNN report, the fire incident was reported when an aircraft was taxiing for departure at Brindisi Airport. All the 184 passengers sitting on the Ryanair flight were evacuated. Firefighters rushed to the airport runway to douse the fire and flames seen outside the plane. In addition, engineers inspected the aircraft.

Following the terrifying incident, the airline released a statement. It mentioned that the fire was seen outside flight FR8826 bound for Turin. Soon, passengers and cabin crew disembarked safely from the plane. They boarded a bus to return to the airport terminal. Firefighters and concerned departments took over the mishap to bring the shocking situation under control.

A couple of days back, a similar alarming news was reported at Milan Bergamo Airport. On Tuesday, a tyre of another Ryanair Boeing flight blew out. The incident on flight FR846 was reported when the plane was landing on the runway. The aircraft was heading to its destination from Barcelona. The emergency led to the closing of the airport as well.

What Happened Later?

The Brindisi airport was closed temporarily to conduct emergency procedures. Following all the necessary steps and arrangements, it resumed operations by late morning that day. The airport restarted services after about three hours. Passengers boarded another flight and travelled to their destination.

Incidents like these are frightening and can even turn life-threatening. Thankfully, no one onboard the flight suffered any injuries.
