The entire city of Mumbai is waiting for the completion of the metro with bated breath. Touted to revolutionise travel within the city, Mumbai Metro’s construction seems to be taking ages. However, we finally have some good news for you. It seems that Line 3 of the Mumbai Metro will soon begin operations. If reports are to go by, inspections and all other necessary checks have been done. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about Mumbai Metro Line 3.

Mumbai Metro Line 3: 97 Per Cent Work Completed So Far

The official handle of Mumbai Metro Line 3 recently took X (formerly known as Twitter) and announced that the work for phase 1 of line 3 is 97 per cent complete. The post further specified that even the necessary inspections were completed by the Fire Brigade Department.

The post also said that the operations would begin soon. If reports are to go, the estimated opening date for phase 1 will be in September 2024, which is next month. Once opened, this particular line will connect the Bandra-Kurla Complex – a major commercial hub – to SEEPZ.

Along with the announcement, the Metro Line 3’s X handle shared a video of the interiors of the Marol Naka metro station. The infrastructure was state-of-the-art and provided seamless connectivity to passengers on their journey.

Once Completed, Phase 1 To Connect BKC To SEEPZ

This is one of the most highly anticipated metro lines. According to an article which was recently published by The Free Press Journal or the FPJ, this particular lie was supposed to open on July 24, 2024. However, owing to various obstacles, the opening was delayed.

The issues were mainly because of pending safety checks and certification approvals as per the FPJ article. In addition to Marol Naka, the handle also shared images of other stations on the line like Santacruz, BKC, MIDC and more.
