If all things go as planned, then the Noida International Airport at Jewar will start operation in 2025. Now, there is some good news for passengers at the new airport. According to Moneycontrol, the flight tickets at this new airport may be cheaper, as compared with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport because of the fuel price difference in the two areas.

According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh state government has decided to slash the VAT imposed on aviation fuel to just 1%, to boost the state’s aviation sector. This is a big difference from the 25% VAT imposed on aviation fuel in Delhi. This VAT difference will help airlines to lower their operational cost and make airfares affordable for passengers.

As per Moneycontrol’s report, fuel costs are one of the biggest expenses for an airline. Lowering this can greatly reduce ticket prices. More details on this can be confirmed once the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) begins discussions on the fare structure, issue guidelines and set pricing for the airport.
