It’s worth noting that flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram have been suspended since Saturday, May 13 morning, as the country is bracing for the cyclone. It is expected that this cyclone is going to be dangerous and will be making landfall in Myanmar and Bangladesh soon. Not to mention, Emirates and Etihad flights from the UAE to the country remain unaffected and are operating as per their normal schedule. However, the report did state that the airlines will notify in case of any changes. Talking about the cyclone, it’s one of the most powerful cyclones that Bangladesh has seen in the last 20 years and is expected to make landfall today near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. As it happens, authorities in the country have also suspended in-land river transport in the country since Friday night.

On a concluding note, let’s hope the cyclone does not leave a lot of destruction in its wake and that the people were moved to a relatively safer area.
