Do you love having jam butter toast for breakfast or Marie biscuits with jam in the middle? We grew up enjoying these sweet treats, especially for breakfast. Out of many brands available in the markets, Kissan Jam is one of the most famous ones. But do you know what ingredients are added to make this sweet treat? Renowned influencer Food Pharmer shared how much sugar is used to prepare Kissan Jam. Let’s find out the truth here.

Food Pharmer Revealed Amount Of Sugar Present In Kissan Jam

Taking to different social media platforms, Revant Himatsingka shared the informative video. Watch it to find out how jam can be harmful to our health.

You might be surprised to hear that 100g Kissan Jam contains 62.6 per cent sugar. “Kissan Jam or Sugar Jam,” asked Food Pharmer. Many Indian households prefer buying bigger tubs. A 700g Kissan Jam is loaded with 438g sugar. When compared with regular-sized sugar cubes, this bottle of jam contains 102 sugar cubes. On the other hand, 104 teaspoons of white sugar are used to make one 700g bottle of Kisaan Jam.

Most kids eat a bread slice with a spoonful of jam. 1 tbsp jam is about 20g and this small quantity has around 3 tablespoons of sugar. If someone eats 3 or 4 bread slices with Kisaan Jam for breakfast, they are probably starting their morning by consuming 9 to 12 spoons of sugar.

We are aware of how Coca-Cola and similar soft drinks are packed with white sugar. Shockingly, a bottle of 300ml Coca-Cola contains 8tsp sugar. Whereas, people consume about 9 spoons of sugar unknowingly while eating bread and jam.

Eating Kissan Jam first thing in the morning feels like getting a sugar rush. Though the advertisements show how the jam is prepared with the taste of eight different fruits, the reality is quite different. Instead of eating Kissan Jam, Food Pharmer suggests eating two fruits. It is a much healthier alternative and provides good benefits as well. It will not cause harm like white sugar does.
