New York Woman Claims She Found ‘Woman’s Fingertip’ Inside Chicken Wrap; Restaurant Calls It Impossible

A New York City woman claimed that she discovered a human fingertip inside a chicken wrap at a restaurant in Queens. She has filed a lawsuit against a local restaurant, claiming that the incident has left her “permanently traumatised”. The restaurant has strongly denied the claim. They call it “impossible” and “fraudulent”, and plan to countersue the woman for slander.

New York Woman Says She Discovered Human Fingertip In Chicken Wrap

According to Hindustan Times, Mary Elizabeth Smith, a New York resident, said she found a human fingertip, along with the nail, in her chicken wrap ordered at Create Astoria, a Mediterranean eatery in Queens. The incident, reportedly, occurred on November 17, 2023. She filed a lawsuit against the restaurant afterwards.

As per the woman’s attorney, Robert Menna, she bit and found “human tissue, a fingertip” inside the wrap. While the woman didn’t swallow it, the incident has “traumatised her.” Furthermore, as per the attorney, the fingertip was submitted for testing, and the results confirmed it was human tissue from a female.

As per The New York Post, Mary had to undergo “intensive antiretroviral therapy as a precaution against potential disease exposure.” After the incident, she couldn’t even eat chicken for a really long time.

Restaurant Refutes Claims

The restaurant has strongly denied the New York woman’s claim of finding a human fingertip in a chicken wrap. According to them, the evidence shows a woman’s fingertip, but the company mentioned that no female employees were on duty at the restaurant that day.

According to Teddy Karagiannis, Create’s owner, the food served at the restaurant goes through many inspection points, and the allegation was “ludicrous”. He claimed that the human finger might have been obtained from somewhere else. The restaurant owner called the lawsuit “preposterous” and “fraudulent”. He now plans to countersue the woman for slander.
