In a recent study by Chef’s Pencil, Miami ranks 72nd in the world for its dining expenses. It is placed above every other American city. According to the Miami New Times, a three-course, mid-range dinner for one person averages $60 (₹5,285). The average monthly salary in the city is $4,230 (₹3,72,628), so spending $60 on one meal uses up 1.4% of a person’s total monthly income.

According to US standards, dining out in Miami costs more than other big cities like Chicago, Seattle, or Washington, D.C.. The surprising part of eating and drinking in Miami is that while food in restaurants is expensive, drinks like coffee and beer are affordable. As per Hindustan Times report, a cappuccino costs about $1.90, and if someone drinks one every day, it would use up over 3.9% of their monthly income. This means Miami is at par with the rest of the world when it comes to coffee prices.

Other Expensive Cities In The World

When compared to other European cities, the cost of eating out in Miami doesn’t sound that expensive. The Chef’s Pencil study shows that Miami’s restaurant prices are similar to those of Europe’s most expensive cities, like Copenhagen, Madrid, and Vienna.

Even though Miami is known for expensive restaurants, it is still famous for its amazing food.  Hindustan Times reported that the restaurants and cafés in this city are vibrant and unique despite high rent costs. It also results in increasing wages for restaurant staff and Miami’s position as a city that brings in global food trends.

If you’re planning to visit Miami, don’t think too much about the cost of food! Just enjoy dishes like stone crab claws or cortadito as they won’t taste so perfect in any other city across the world.
