Karan Patel’s casual croissant-and-butter moment has become one of Rise & Fall 2’s funniest scenes as Workers watch the Rulers enjoy life upstairs.

Rise & Fall 2 has barely been on air for a week and the Tower has already delivered fights, walkouts, political arguments, shifting alliances and enough drama to make everyone forget that this is technically a game about money and power. Hosted by Virender Sehwag, Season 2 features Gautam Gulati, Karan Patel, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Tej Pratap Yadav, Kaira Anu, Sara Gurpal, Niharika Tiwari, Siwet Tomar, Kajal Raghwani, Anish Bhagat, Raj Grover, Manish Kashyap and Irina Rudakova.

Rise & Fall 2 Has Already Turned Everything Into A Drama

And yes, there has already been a lot to unpack. Siwet Tomar was removed from the show after his physical altercation with Shehzad Poonawalla, a decision that did not sit well with everyone inside the Tower. Swara Bhasker and Karan Patel expressed their disagreement and said they wanted to leave alongside Siwet. Siwet has since disputed the account of the incident, saying he only held Shehzad by the collar and accusing him of repeatedly provoking him. Meanwhile, Gautam Gulati and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary have already found themselves on opposite sides of a task after their initially warm equation, because apparently peace was never going to survive the Tower.

But somewhere amid all that chaos came a much smaller, much funnier crisis…Karan Patel and a croissant.

“Butter Laga Raha Hai!” The Workers Were Not Having It

The whole point of Rise & Fall is the divide. The Rulers get the Penthouse, the Workers are stuck in the Basement, and suddenly the most ordinary things acquire the importance of luxury goods. So when the Workers are watching the action upstairs, and Karan casually picks up a croissant, things are already slightly painful.

Then he adds butter.

That tiny movement sends the Workers into instant commentary mode…”Butter laga raha hai!”

And honestly, the outrage is hilarious because the croissant itself was not even the real issue. It was the casualness. Karan Patel wasn’t performing some extravagant breakfast ritual. He was simply doing what anyone with a croissant and butter would do; putting butter on the croissant.

Except, inside Rise & Fall 2, breakfast has apparently become a class issue.

For viewers, it makes the show’s central concept ridiculously easy to understand. You don’t need a giant task or a dramatic speech to show what the Workers are missing. Sometimes you just need one person upstairs, happily buttering a pastry, while everyone downstairs watches like they have witnessed an economic crime.

Karan Patel may have just been having breakfast.

The Workers, however, saw the butter. And that was enough.
