A video from Bengaluru is now going viral, where an X user showed the broken road and encroached footpaths outside Google’s office in the city. The user also questioned the authorities and urged urgent action to fix the poor condition of the roads.
Broken Foothpaths And Damaged Road Outside Google’s Office In Bengaluru
Let’s see what it takes to walk outside Google Bengaluru. One word: unsafe.

An X page, @CivicOp_india, recently uploaded a video highlighting the state of the roads outside Google’s office in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) area. The clip shows a man walking amid broken roads, potholes and encroached footpaths. In the video, he says, “Here is the condition of the roads and the footpath in front of the Google office.” He also called the roads “unsafe.”
He further points out that even the service road outside the office is in a “really pathetic” state. The user shared the video on September 19 with a caption that says, “Let’s see what it takes to walk outside Google Bengaluru. One word: unsafe. Both sides’ footpaths are broken and encroached, while the service road is riddled with potholes. What should be the pride of Bengaluru is getting the least attention from GBA. The further you go, the worse it gets. We urge urgent action to restore safe, walkable footpaths here.”
“No Walking Space” On The Roads
The man added that there is barely any walking space, and the roads are unclean. He further added that Google is the pride of Bengaluru, yet the roads weren’t maintained properly. @CivicOp_india also questioned the authorities, particularly the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), asking why no attention is being given to such an important area. He also requested immediate action.
The video sparked reactions online, with many netizens sharing similar thoughts. One wrote, “If the footpath is completely encroached, the government should remove it completely and broaden the road.” Another wrote, “Please start by raising the issue with local BBMP engineers. Engage them; they should feel the pressure. It’s always easy to blame the politicians.”
One user added, “This will remain the same until the completion of Metro Works. GBA has proposed white topping of the entire stretch from KR Puram to Silk Board after completion of the Metro works & opening for Public use. We will hopefully have good roads similar to Central Bengaluru.” Many other users also pointed out the rising number of potholes across Bengaluru, calling the conditions “pathetic.”
What do you think of this? If you are a Bengalurean, have you ever faced a similar situation? Do let us know!
