For The 1st Time Ever, Dubai Will Host Annual Meetings of IATA And World Air Transport Summit 2024

Dubai is all set to host the 80th annual general meeting of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) and the World Air Transport Summit in the Emirates. The events will be held from June 2 to June 4, 2024. All the senior leaders from the aviation industry will be present at this mega important event. This will be the very first time that Dubai will be the host for these events. 

Dubai To Host IATA And World Air Transport Summit

The director general of IATA, Willie Walsh, said that Dubai is a major aviation hub that connects the world and is a dynamic city. He mentioned that hosting AGMs in countries like Dubai shows what can be achieved by the aviation industry when government policies are supportive. 

He said that the UAE has been able to build a strong airline with a strong hub airport because of its positive approach. This makes a very powerful and important contribution to society and the economy. 

Over 300 international airlines will be participating in the event that are also members of this association. The event will also have strategic partners, aircraft manufacturers, and representatives of international and regional organisations (aviation).

Emirates Airlines Will Be The Host Airline

The IATA includes airlines from over 120 countries, which accounts for about 83% of the total air traffic in the world.  

The Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors, Muhammad Nani, announced that the host airline for the Air Transport Conference will be Emirates Airlines. 

The President of Emirates Airlines, Sir Tom Clark, praised the President and the team for the event organised this year. He expressed his happiness at being announced as the hosting airline for such an important conference. 

In 2023, IATA expects over 4.35 billion passengers, which is 96 percent more than in 2019.
