Several UAE airlines, including Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air, have suspended flights to parts of the Middle East and Eastern Europe due to airspace closures. Affected routes include Iran, Iraq, Israel, and more.

The unrest in the Middle Eastern region is slowly approaching a calm environment after a long period. But, there are still challenges in terms of flights reopening their routes regionally and internationally. So if you are confused about which airspace is operational and want more info about the which flights are suspended, here’s a simple guide for you.

Planning A Summer Escape? UAE Flights To These Routes Are Still Suspended

Jetting off soon? Hold your camels, folks! If you’ve  summer holidays planned up, its time to double-check your bookings. UAE airlines schedules are facing a bit of shuffle due to ongoing airspace closures across parts of the Middle East and Eastern Europe. 

Flights To Iran, Iraq, Israel And More Witness Pause

Booked with Emirates, Etihad, flydubai, Air Arabia or Wizz Air? You’ll want to give your itinerary a second look. With airspace around Iran, Iraq, Israel and nearby regions shut down, several flights have been temporarily suspended or rerouted. It’s all for safety – but a few travel hiccups are expected.

Starting with Emirates – they’ve put flights to and from Tehran on hold until Saturday, 5 July. But there’s light at the end of the runway – flights to Baghdad will be back from Tuesday, 1 July, and services to Basra resume on Wednesday, 2 July.

Flydubai has also extended its suspension to Iran, apart from Mashad, which is flying as usual. Planning a Russian getaway? Good news there – flydubai’s St. Petersburg flights will take off again from Wednesday, 2 July, while other routes to Russia remain unaffected.

Air Arabia & Wizz Air Flights Also Affected

Air Arabia travellers, keep those passports in the drawer for now. No flights to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan until 30 June. Flights to Jordan, have restarted. The airline has also shut its sales offices in Iran temporarily.  Travelling from Sharjah or Abu Dhabi to these countries? Well, it would be best to delay that trip.

No Wizz Air flights to Tel Aviv till 15 September.
