Capella Bangkok has been crowned the best hotel in the world for 2024. This prestigious accolade comes from “The World’s 50 Best Hotels,” a ranking determined by 600 anonymous global voters. These voters include travel journalists, hoteliers, and experienced travel professionals. The results were announced at London’s historic Guildhall.

Capella Bangkok has moved up 10 places from its previous spot at number 11 in 2023. The hotel offers 101 suites and villas, stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, and five dining options. Rooms start at $600 per night.
The second spot on the list went to Passalacqua, a hotel in Italy’s Lake Como. Passalacqua was ranked first in 2023 but slipped to number two this year. The third spot went to Rosewood Hong Kong.
The World’s 50 Best organisation, which has produced culinary rankings since 2002, first released its hotel list in 2023. This year’s list includes hotels from six continents, with Asia dominating the list with 19 hotels. Europe follows with 13, and North America boasts nine. Africa and Oceania each have four hotels, while South America is represented by just one.

Raffles London at The OWO claimed the “Highest New Entry Award,” entering at number 13. The “Highest Climber Award” went to Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, which jumped from number 44 to number nine. Bulgari Tokyo, at number 22, was named the “Best New Hotel.”
The voting system relies on voters naming their top seven hotel experiences from the past two years. There are no strict criteria for inclusion, ensuring that any hotel, whether new or historic, has a chance to make the list.
