Many people in the country on this day travel—especially women— to tie rakhis. Hence, in order to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, many regions are offering free transport services to women across the country.
Raksha Bandhan 2024: Regions Offering Free Services To Women
1. Pune Autorickshaw Drives Offer Free Rides
Women travellers who are hitching rickshaws from the Rickshaw Mitra prepaid booth near the Pune station can avail of free rides for up to ₹100. If the fare exceeds this amount, they will only have to pay whatever is over ₹100. For instance, if the fare is ₹150, they will only have to pay ₹50.
2. Free Bus Rides For Women In Indore
In an announcement made by Pushyamitra Bhargava, the chairman of the AICTSL Board, it was stated that women in Indore will get free bus rides on August 19. Under the purview of this scheme, women can travel in city buses, I buses, and electric buses for free on Raksha Bandhan.

3. Free Bus Rides For Women In Uttar Pradesh
On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, for the sisters of Uttar Pradesh, travel in Uttar Pradesh Transport buses will be free from 12 AM on 18th August to 12 AM on 19th August.@myogiadityanath https://t.co/hNbjb3ya0D

Uttar Pradesh, in the spirit of Raksha Bandhan, has also announced that bus rides will be absolutely free for women in the state. In order to accommodate the increase in the number of passengers owing to this, the UP government has added an additional 300 buses. This scheme will be available from 12 AM on August 18 to 11:59 PM on August 19.
4. Bhopal Allows Free Bus Travel For Women On Raksha Bandhan
The city of Bhopal will also allow free bus travel for women. In this city, the scheme is applicable from 6 AM to 9 PM. Women can travel anywhere in Bhopal for free via public buses.
