1. Borra Caves

The first cave in the list of Andhra Pradesh is the Borra Caves. It is located near Araku Valley and has beautiful cave formations of stalagmites and stalactites. These formations resemble the udders of a cow and for this reason, the locals call this cave Gosthani. Along with this, Borra Caves is also a pilgrim site with a Shivalinga and an idol of Kamadenu.

2. Belum Caves

You can’t skip the second-largest cave in India when you visit Andhra Pradesh; it is Belum Caves! This stunning cave was formed as a result of water flowing over limestone deposits. This resulted in the formation of picturesque stalactites and stalagmites with siphons. It is all a natural wonder and you get to witness the glory of it all!

3. Guthikonda Caves

It is situated almost 35 km from Narasaraopet and is popular for offering a picturesque scenic view, especially during the monsoon season. The dense forest and rocky caves perfectly balance the wonders of nature in Andhra Pradesh. Along with the caves, Guthikonda Bilam is also the main attraction here. It was a residential area during prehistoric times! What a historic link!

4. Undavalli Caves

Vijayawada houses a beautiful natural cave in Andhra Pradesh and is Undavalli Caves. Here you can witness the beauty of sandstone’s rock-cut architecture. This has a four-storied temple and the architectural styles showcase the dynasties that ruled during its formation. You will come across many other caves on the side of the hill but a popular one in Vijayawada has a huge monolith of Lord Vishnu. The monolith is known for its unique reclining posture.

5. Yadiki Caves

Visiting Anantapur district on your visit to Andhra Pradesh? Then, visit the famous Yadiki Caves which houses Geemanugavi and Uudamanagavi caves. The latter cave is known for accommodating only 100 people at once while Geemanugavi has some stunning designs that will leave you speechless. It has intricate designs of spheres, snakes, bridges and chandeliers of stalactite and stalagmite formations. Adventure enthusiasts can also make a trip to this spot as it is great for trekking and rock climbing. Be ready to be enchanted by the picturesque views it offers!

6. Yaganti Caves

Head over to the Kurnool district for the last cave formation and explore the Yaganti Caves. It receives a massive amount of footfall throughout the year as devotees visit Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple. Hence, it is a pilgrimage site.
