From Fungus Smell To Unwashed Cups, Author Shares His Disappointing Experience At Cafe Coffee Day In Gurugram; He Says, “CCD Is Dying”

Every other day, we witness a social media post that goes viral in which someone shares a fairly unsatisfactory experience at a well-known company, whether it be in the food, fashion, or transportation sectors. One such disappointing experience at Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) came to light. When author Manoj Arora wrote about his disappointing experience at CCD in Gurugram, it caused a social media uproar that raised concerns about CCD’s deteriorating standards and poor customer service.

Author’s Disappointed Experience At Cafe Coffee Day

Manoj Arora posted about his experience on X, a social media platform that received over 306K views. He explained in a lengthy tweet that he went to a CCD shop close to the exam centre where he dropped off his daughter for the Common Admission Test (CAT) in Gurugram. He was writing in the café during the waiting hours but was left feeling frustrated.

Although there was a “fungus smell” at the café, the author didn’t voice any complaints. When he asked for a small cappuccino, he was informed that there were only large takeout cups available. Additionally, he asked for a ceramic cup because he intended to drink the coffee inside CCD, but the staff refused, stating that all of the cups were not cleaned because of a water shortage. Glasses for other drinks had similar problems.

Manoj even asked if he could get a small cup of coffee in a large cup but was again faced with disappointment as the staff denied him due to inventory concerns. Having no other option, he paid an additional ₹100 for a large coffee. ‘CCD is dying,’ he said, sharing his experience. Subsequently, CCD replied to his tweet that they make every effort to guarantee a positive experience and requested Manoj’s phone number so that he could get in touch with their staff.
