There’s a major demand for travelling the world in the upcoming winter holiday season. Thanks to Christmas and New Year, globetrotters are all set to enjoy the holidays exploring their dream destinations. Thomas Cook India is witnessing a rise in demand among young professionals, honeymooners, families, and millennials. People are planning their holidays based on the number of days and also their budget. From mountains to beaches to even bustling international cities, visitors are waiting to board their flights ASAP!

Rajeev Kale, the President & Country Head of Thomas Cook India Limited, shared that many scenic destinations in India are about to see a major tourist footfall this holiday season. These domestic locations are Andamans, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, and Rajasthan, according to the Press Release. These places show how different explorers want to visit and witness different natural landscapes such as beaches, alluring mountains, and deserts.

Well, there’s an evident demand for international holidays as well. Foreign destinations that are considered favourites this season such as Abu Dhabi, Cambodia, Dubai, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. One of the reasons behind many planning their holidays to these destinations is due to direct air connectivity. As days are passing, travellers and their travel preferences are seeing a transition as well. Indians are growing interest in enjoying unique and extraordinary experiences. From winter markets in Europe to staying at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Finland to kayaking in Abu Dhabi, such new experiences are on globetrotters’ radar.

SOTC Travel has revealed some interesting insights from the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays. For this season, the company noticed a significant rise in demand for alluring domestic tourist cities such as Andamans, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Some of these destinations have been forever favourites among travellers.

When it comes to international places, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam are high in demand. An important reason behind Indians choosing these countries is because of facilities such as visas on arrival and getting a visa quickly. Daniel D’Souza, the President & Country Head of SOTC Travel, shared how Indian tourists are keen to explore the world-famous Christmas markets in Europe and Singapore. Another experience that is high in demand is the extravagant fireworks and New Year celebrations in Sydney. In fact, there is a growing interest in cruise experiences. Mostly millennials and young professionals wish to visit quaint places and enjoy offbeat travel experiences.

The flight tickets and accommodations are charging a bomb but all these are not affecting most travel enthusiasts’ holiday plans. They are ready to pay even 20 to 30 per cent higher just to enjoy their holidays in the best way possible.
