Tallest Hanuman Statue In Canada

The highest statue of a Hindu deity in Canada, a 55-foot Hanuman statue, is slated to be unveiled in April of next year.

The statue, which was created by Rajasthani artist Naresh Kumawat and paid for by the local temple administration, will be formally displayed at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada, on April 23, which is the day of the deity’s birth. The day is known as Hanuman Jayanti in India and is celebrated with great pomp.

Kumawat, who is renowned for his skill in creating Hindu deities in sculpture, has built more than 200 monuments in 80 different nations. He stated to The Indian Express that the statue’s finishing touches will be applied in the summer before its debut in April of next year.

Previously, Kumawat was commissioned by a businessman to build the Voice of the Vedas temple’s 50-foot-tall Hanuman statue, which was previously the highest in Canada. In addition, he painted a 75-foot mural of Samudra Manthan for the Central Vista project, which is housed in the new Delhi Parliament building.  (as per The Indian Express)

A Part Of Hindu Vishnu Puran

This painting represents the sea churning and is an important occurrence from the Hindu Vishnu Puran. One of the most important stories in the Vishnu Puran, according to Hindu mythology, is Samudra Manthan.

It is the story of the birth of divine goddesses, angels, and numerous riches, including the divine nectar of immortality known as Amrit. “Ocean” and “churning” are the literal translations of the terms “samudra” and “manthan.” Thus, the term as a whole refers to the “churning of the sea.”

A seven-foot statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the head of the committee that authored the Indian Constitution, was unveiled before the Supreme Court on India’s Constitution Day. The sculpture was created by Kumawat.
