From Kerala To UP, Most States Face Heavy Rainfall, Weather Likely To Turn Worse; Updates Here

We all have been waiting for the monsoon season to get relief from this year’s intolerable summer season and extreme rise in heat. As the monsoon sweeps through India, the heavy rainfall is turning out to be a major problem in different parts of several Indian states. From North to South and East to West, the heavy spells are leading to roadblocks, landslides, and more. Here are all the updates from different places.

Jammu & Kashmir:

It is raining non-stop in so many places of J&K. Residents who are living nearby the Jhelum River, Chenab River, and more water bodies are facing problems due to this heavy rainfall for some time. The water is increasing extensively and unfortunately, a flood alert has been sounded here.

Delhi:

The national capital just recorded the highest rainfall for the first time ever since 1982. Heavy rainfall lashed in Delhi on Saturday and the same is continuing on Sunday morning as well. According to a report by ABP Live, the city recorded 153 mm of rainfall today morning. It was around 8:30 AM when the Safdarjung observatory recorded the highest one-day rainfall in the capital.

Heavy Rainfall In Mumbai:

Saturday saw several parts of the city receiving heavy rains. On Sunday, Mumbai is likely to receive moderate to heavy spells in most areas. With the rise in water level, low-lying areas are facing many issues and getting water clogged.

Himachal Pradesh:

The condition is horrifying in Himachal Pradesh. The extreme rise in water level and overflow has already washed away a part of the NH-3 in Kullu. Landslides were also reported in this state. Due to this, there is a huge traffic in Kullu as well. Many roads are blocked due to such heavy lashing and some houses even faced damage. According to IMD, several districts are about to receive massive downpours on Sunday.

Punjab:

There is an orange alert issued in different parts of Punjab, according to a report by News 18. The state is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall this Sunday. IMD recently mentioned that there can be intense rain in some places as well.

Rajasthan:

Heavy rainfall in this state led to the death of about 4 people recently. Different areas are experiencing extreme rainfall which led to such scary outcomes.

Heavy Rainfall In Kerala:

The present condition is very unfortunate in this state. The devastating rainfall has already taken the lives of 19 people. More than 10,000 residents had to forcefully displace and relocate to safe places. The intense heavy rainfall led to waterlogs in so many places, making it terrible and difficult for people living there. IMD issued a yellow alert for Kannur, Kasaragod, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.
