The Guinness World Records has always been a fascinating compilation of extraordinary achievements and incredible feats accomplished by individuals around the globe. When it comes to food, the records take on a bizarre and often mind-boggling nature, pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity and human appetite. From colossal pizzas to enormous chewing-gum bubbles blown, here are some of the most bizarre Guinness World Records for food.
1. World’s Largest Pizza: A 13,990-Square-Foot Pizza
On January ’23, Pizza Hut broke the Guinness World Record for the biggest-ever pie. They unveiled a 13,990 sq. ft. creation topped with 8,800 lbs (3991 kg) of cheese and 630,000 slices of pepperoni. Pizza Hut teamed up with YouTuber Airrack for the stunt in Los Angeles this week. Its record attempt was made to celebrate the return of The Big New Yorker pie. This world’s largest pizza required 13,653 pounds (6192 kg) of dough and made 68,000 slices.
2. World’s Most Expensive Icecream: ₹5.2 lakhs For A Scoop
A Japanese brand, Cellato has created the world’s most expensive ice cream which cost 873,400 yen ( ₹5.2 lakhs) a scoop. This ice cream has white truffle, sake and exquisite cheese that makes all the difference. The ice cream is made of white truffles grown in Italy’s Alba, where the truffles itself cost a whopping ₹12 lakh per kg. The other costly ingredients include edible gold leaf, sake lees, from leftover sake production and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
3. World’s Most Expensive Fries: With Edible Gold
Serendipty 3, a New York City restaurant is serving a plate of fries for $200 (₹16,000), making them the most expensive portion of fried potato in the world. The fries are made with copious amounts of truffle butter, truffle shavings and edible gold, and are served on a crystal plate. The fries, which were granted the record-topping status on last year’s 12 July also come with 23-carat edible gold dusting.

4. Largest Chewing-Gum Bubble Blown: 50 Centimetres And 8 Millimetres In Diameter
Blowing the bubblegum and then enjoying the bubble burst is definitely one of the games that kids play and love. Chad Fell, a native of Winston County in Alabama in the United States had blown the largest bubblegum without the use of hands. The ball of gum has a diameter of 50.8 centimetres (20 inches), according to the Guinness World Records. Fell established the record in April 2004, by blowing with three pieces of ‘Dubble Bubble’ gum and to date, no one has been able to break it.
5. World’s Longest Noodle: 10,100-Ft Long Noodle Made By Hand!
If you love noodles, you would love to learn about this one! The record-setting noodle is made from 40 kilogrammes of bread flour, 26.8 litres of water and 0.6 kilogrammes of salt. It is based on a traditional ramen noodle recipe. It weighs in at just over 66 kilogrammes. Chefs from a Chinese food company, Xiangnian Food Co Ltd earned their place in the Guinness World Records when they made the longest noodle in the world. However, the noodle is 10,100 feet and is made entirely by hand!
