Recently, a chef from the country of Nigeria began a cook-a-thon. She managed to cook for 100 hours straight. She began the cook-a-thon on the 11th of May, Thursday. Since then, she was in the kitchen till the 15th of May, Monday. Her main intention with this cook-a-thon was to popularise and spread the word about Nigerian cuisine. She said that she wants more people to know about Nigerian cuisine as it is one of the best cuisines in the world. She intends to set a new Guinness world record for the longest cook-a-thon by an individual.

Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci Cooked For 100 Hours Straight To Set A Guinness World Record

Hilda Effiong Bassey, who is popularly known as Hilda Baci set out to break the previously held Guinness world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. In order to accomplish this, she decided to cook for 100 hours continuously.

The officials from the Guinness Book of World Records are currently evaluating the evidence and are trying to confirm whether she has managed to break the previous record. Baci decided to make her cookout public and many people attended her attempt at making history.

In these 100 hours, she managed to whip up more than 100 meals and 55 recipes. According to a spokesperson for the Guinness Book of World Records, the officials are currently in the process of reviewing the evidence. The verdict shall soon be passed.

Before Hilda Baci’s attempt, the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual is held by an Indian chef called Lata Tondon. She holds the record for cooking for close to 88 hours. Lata Tondon’s record is for 87 Hours and 45 minutes.

If Hilda Baci’s attempt is successful, she will have beaten Tondon’s record by more than 10 hours. Her attempt has been to spread her native cuisine and take it to a wider audience. She believes that the Nigerian cuisine is one of the most delicious ones out there.

The videos of the cook-a-thon have been posted on her Instagram handle. Many people have flocked to the comment section, showing their support.
