From Rihanna’s Arrival To 5X Traffic, Jamnagar Airport Staff Reveal Arrangements Done For Ambani Event

What a fantastic long weekend it has been for Bollywood celebrities and guests invited to the lavish pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Out of all the mind-blowing events and festivities, Rihanna’s dynamic performance grabbed everyone’s attention globally. From arriving at the Jamnagar airport to leaving post-performance, her presence was major news globally.

From Cops To Paps, Rihanna Posed With Her Fans

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Chai-Shai (@aashishsarda07) shared some clips of the global superstar interacting with paps and other people at the Jamnagar airport.

The domestic airport witnessed the arrival of hundreds of guests and eminent personalities from different parts of the world to be a part of Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding celebrations. According to a report by The Indian Express, from February 26, this place saw the traffic jump to 5 times than usual. Starting from February 26 to March 6, the airport had to take permission for the smooth operations of overseas flights. The Airports Authority of India provided this permission to the airport.

Rihanna News (@TeamOfRihanna) shared glimpses of Rihanna’s performance at the pre-wedding bash.

Dhananjay Kumar, the Jamnagar airport director, shared some necessary information with The Indian Express about the past few days’ operations at the airport. From February 26 to March 1, a total of 40 overseas flights were seen there, including 20 arriving and 20 departing from the airport. While Jamnagar airport usually manages 3 arrival and 3 departing flights every day, the numbers saw a rise because of the recent pre-wedding functions in the Gujarat city.

It was a major challenge to handle the rush of guests, especially when Rihanna arrived and left after her performance. Singh revealed how the challenge was to accommodate all the planes arriving at the airport. Rihanna came with lots of luggage and those were brought on a Boeing 767. The biggest challenge at this moment was to accommodate all the flights near the terminal.

More Challenges At Jamnagar Airport, More Security & Everything That Went On For Proper Operations

Staff from Ahmedabad and Rajkot airports visited Jamnagar airport to control the situation and manage the rise in passengers. From immigration to ground handling, these staff helped in managing everything going on in the last couple of days, according to a report by the Financial Express. In fact, flights were parked either at Ahmedabad Airport or Rajkot Airport as the parking area at the Jamnagar airport was not enough. About 1,500 police staff, including 600 from different districts, have been positioned in the city.

Strict security measures have been taken in the Gujarat city. From airport authorities to district police, everyone focused on enhancing measures and heightening security during these days. From the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad to staff from other places, many people were positioned in different places to conduct smooth operations.

Now, the major rush days are March 4 and 5 when guests are starting to leave the venue and board flights from the Jamnagar airport.
