June 18 seems like one of the most shocking dates for the Indian aviation sector. From morning to afternoon, multiple airports in different parts of India received bomb threats. In the past few weeks, we heard about similar incidents on different days. Astoundingly, today recorded a total of 6 threats within just a few hours. It surely raised fear, doubts, and cautiousness among authorities and passengers.

Several Bomb Threats Reported In Indian Airports

1. Delhi Airport

The first bomb threat on Tuesday was reported at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. According to several reports, the flight that received the threat was scheduled to depart from the capital city to Dubai. The Delhi International Airport Limited came to know about it through an email at 9.35 AM. It was a hoax threat.

2. Chennai Airport

Another Dubai-bound flight also got a similar warning. It was on Tuesday Morning when a scheduled Emirates flight got delayed at the Chennai International Airport because of a bomb threat. Passengers did not board the aircraft when the news came to everyone’s attention.

3. Jaipur Airport

Jaipur International Airport also reported the same issue of getting a bomb threat. The authorities found it via email. Following the incident, an inspection was conducted at the airport premises. Teams of the Central Industrial Security Force and police concluded the inspection with nothing doubtful.

4. Patna Airport

Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan International Airport also was at the receiving end of a bomb threat on Tuesday. It was around 1:10 PM when the authorities got a mail stating the threat. Security arrangements were strengthened at the airport premises right after.

5. Coimbatore Airport Got A Bomb Threat

Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore Airport got a bomb threat via email. Soon, a thorough investigation was conducted by a sniffer dog squad from the Central Industrial Security Force and a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. Following searching the premises, they stated the threat to be a hoax.

6. Vadodara Airport

Just a couple of hours back, Vadodara airport reported a bomb threat. It was during the afternoon hours when authorities were alerted about the threat via email. Additional security measures have been deployed.

Indeed, it was a strange day. Several flights experienced delays because of these threats. Authorities are looking over all these issues and ensuring smooth travel experiences for passengers.
