As time passes, tourism has evolved from pilgrimage to backpacking. The most talked about tourist thing is adventure tourism! And youngsters are crazy about it. The demand to try different thrilling activities has increased. Keeping this in mind, the Ministry of Tourism is planning to introduce mega adventure trails in 2023. Here’s all you need to know about these adventure tourism trails.

Mega Adventure Tourism Trails In 2023!

The Ministry of Tourism is responsible for promoting and implementing strategies to improve tourism. Noticing the surge in demand for adventure tourism, the authorities are planning to introduce two mega adventure trails — Ganga Trail and Northwestern Himalayan Trail. There are several other adventure trail projects in line. However, before starting them, it is important to see the public’s reaction to these two. These adventure trails will be located in the Gangetic and Himalayas regions.

In addition to implementing any new tourism ideas, it is important to prioritise sustainability. Like at scuba diving spots, the marine ecosystem shouldn’t be harmed in any way! As for the Himalayan region, these tourist activities like mountain biking, etc are important for the locals as it is their source of income.

Other trail projects yet to start include Narmada Trail from Amarkantak to the Arabian Sea, West Coast Trail from Kutch to Kanyakumari, Kaveri River Trail, East Coast Trail from West Bengal to Kanyakumari and more.

Adventure Tourism In India

Currently, India is excelling in adventure sports activities. Moreover, there are enough activities to try — be it bungee jumping, rock climbing, trekking, kayaking, paragliding, skydiving, snorkelling, scuba diving and more! The Ministry of Tourism is looking forward to adding more sports activities and offering thrilling experiences to those who seek adventure.
