The state government is planning to live stream 40 shortlisted pujas of Kolkata this year. From bodhon and aarti to sindur khela, viewers can watch every major event of the festival virtually with this initiative.
Durga Puja received the Intangible Cultural Heritage tag of UNESCO in December 2021. The government is showcasing the pandals online to celebrate the prestigious tag.

According to a Times of India report, authorities will be engaging event management agencies to make 360-degree views of the chosen pandals accessible from different parts of the globe. The streaming of the pujas are likely to take place through multiple websites and tourism booths. The list will incorporate all the top-notch pujas of Kolkata. Both Bengalis and foreign tourists can witness the celebrations from their computers or cell phones.
Thus, whether you’re working outside Kolkata or going on a trip, you can still visit the pandals.

Kolkata Police To Launch Utsav App 2022
Additionally, the Kolkata Police will be launching the Utsav App 2022 which will offer virtual tours of 60 popular Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata. The app will have details of as many as 350 puja pandals. Most likely, the app will be rolled out by September 25. These online tours will also help the aged people who want to witness the pandal celebrations while avoiding the queues.
