GITEX Global, an ongoing event which concludes on October 20, has been creating quite a buzz with a slew of developments that have been introduced here. The first day was also attended by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. And during the last few days, quite a bit of exciting news has come up from the event happening at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Important Updates From GITEX Global Event

1. AI-Powered Patrol Car To Ply On Dubai Roads

AI is the future of the world and Dubai is leaving no stone unturned to keep up with this technology and introducing the same in everyday life. For this purpose, the Dubai RTA is soon going to introduce AI-powered patrol vehicles on Dubai roads. These will be monitoring and assessing the performances of delivery riders and initially, only five such roving cars will be introduced. Moreover, each of these cars will be equipped with six smart cameras that will offer a 360° view of the roads.

Additionally, the Dubai police also unveiled its self-driving security patrol aiming to achieve better safety in residential areas. As it happens, these might get introduced next year and the battery of the vehicle lasts up to 15 hours. Not to mention, these driverless units can reach a speed of up to 7 km/h! Moreover, they have been designed specifically for residential zones to boost security coverage.

2. Face-Recognition To Pay For Transport

Another exciting development from GITEX Global happens to be the fact that soon people will be able to pay through facial recognition technology while travelling in public transport. Yes, they will be able to pay for the services through this technology and it will be extended to services, like the Dubai tram, buses, taxis, marine transport, and even the metro. So, what this will mean for commuters is that they will no longer have to use cards, cash, tickets, or nol cards. However, it’s worth mentioning that the exact date for the release has still not been relayed.

3. Gitex Global Heading To Europe For The First Time

For the first time ever, GITEX Global is going to make a debut in Europe. Slated to happen in Berlin, Germany in 2025, this event will happen from May 21 to 23. This is a big deal because this is the second overseas debut of GITEX, as the first one was GITEX Africa Morocco, which happened in May 2023. Moreover, the signing ceremony of the launch between Kaoun International, Messe Berlin, and the Overseas Events Company of the DWTC was also attended by Omar Sultan Al Olama. He is the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy & Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of Dubai Chambers of Digital Economy.

4. DubI Police App To Decide The Culprit

Another pretty exciting development from this event happens to be the fact that an AI-driven system will revolutionise accident reporting and fault determination in Dubai. Yes, with the help of this innovative approach, people are bound to save valuable time and resources. Not to mention, streamlining the accident, reporting process is also going to make it more user-friendly than before. It should also be noted that this is a collaborative effort between Digital Dubai and Dubai Police, which will help in seamlessly integrating the services into the DubaiNow app.

5. Dubai Police To Soon Launch A Floating Police Station

During the GITEX event, the Dubai Police revealed that it will soon launch a smart floating police station. This will be off the World Islands and according to a report by the Gulf News, it was also mentioned that the floating station will offer services that won’t require any human intervention. While more details are soon to be announced, this was certainly one of the most exciting developments from the event. It’s worth mentioning that the services will be online and will include everything from criminal and community services to the issuance of certificates and traffic.

The event has certainly been setting a benchmark for people as it has been a hub for the introduction of some exciting developments.
