In an iconic first, the Indian flag was hoisted at Seattle’s Space Needle to mark India’s 79th Independence Day. Reportedly, this is the first time a foreign nation’s flag was raised at the iconic 605-feet-tall American destination. New York’s World Trade Center was also illuminated in the tricolour to mark the occasion.
