IndiGo posted an update on its official X account to inform travellers about the situation. The airline wrote, “In view of the developing situation around Iran, we have made additional adjustments to our flight schedule to ensure a safe and seamless experience for our customers and crew.
As part of these measures, IndiGo cancelled flights to and from Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku and Tashkent. Travellers were advised to check alternative travel options. IndiGo also offered customers a full refund if their flights were affected. The airline urged passengers to stay in touch with official channels for updates.
IndiGo also added, “As the situation continues to evolve, our plans remain under regular review. Any further updates or changes will be shared through our communication channels. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued trust.”

Air India’s Precautionary Move
IndiGo initially announced flight cancellations on January 26, 27 and 28. However, after reviewing the situation, the airline extended the cancellations till February 28. If your travel plans are affected, you should either choose an alternative flight or opt for a full refund. It is also important to regularly check your flight status.
According to a report by India TV, Air India also stopped overflying Iranian airspace from January 28 as a precautionary measure. This happened due to rising security concerns triggered by protests in Iran. Several flights were rerouted to avoid Iranian airspace.
