The people in Nepal came out in protest after some social media platforms were banned in the country. These platforms were not registered under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Nepal. Even after the ban was lifted, the protests continued. Till now, over 18 people have lost their lives, and more than 250 are injured, reported The Times of India. Keeping the situation in mind, India has issued an advisory for Indians currently in the neighbouring country.
The MEA has shared that they are keeping a close eye on the activities in Nepal. They have issued an advisory and urged Indian citizens to stay safe. As per the notification, they have asked people to avoid crowded places, be watchful, and not go against the Nepal authorities in any emergency. Nepal imposed curfews in several areas, including Kathmandu and other major cities in the country.

Kathmandu International Airport Temporarily Closed
Authorities in Nepal have temporarily shut down Kathmandu International Airport, amid violent protests. Airlines like Air India and IndiGo have cancelled all flights. According to Hindustan Times, various Air India flights running from Delhi to Kathmandu (AI2231/2232, AI2219/2220, AI217/218, and AI211/212) have been cancelled. IndiGo suspended all flights to and from Kathmandu until further notice. The airlines have kept the safety of their passengers and staff as their top priority.
For those who have already booked their flights, these airlines have advised them to look for an alternative option or claim a refund. On this, IndiGo took its X handle and wrote, “If your travel is impacted, you may conveniently opt for an alternate flight or claim a refund by visiting our website.”
