Digital travel platform Agoda has recorded a rise in family accommodation searches for domestic summer travel compared to last year. And honestly, it is not a big surprise that destinations such as Puri, Wayanad, and Goa are emerging as trending locations for the upcoming school holiday period, a time when most schools across Indian states stay closed, giving an opportunity to families to plan vacations. 

This is also the time when many families plan vacations together. Families are planning escapes to these coastal and nature-focused destinations to get relief from the sweltering heat. And these places have everything you need, including cool weather, sea breezes, greenery, and plenty of water activities. The report also points to a growing interest in coastal, nature, and outdoor-focused getaways as compared to last year.

Puri, Wayanad & Goa See Rise In Searches

According to the report by Agoda, Odisha’s iconic coastal town Puri is seeing a 68% rise in accommodation searches. The place is home to the famous Jagannath Temple and offers families a mix of spiritual heritage and beachside leisure.

Whereas Wayanad is seeing a 40% rise in family accommodation searches compared to last year. This beautiful summer destination in Kerala is known for its wildlife sanctuaries, plantation retreats, and cool mist-wrapped forests. The place offers a laid-back vacation for families looking to explore nature.

Moreover, Goa, which is one of India’s best summer destinations, has seen a 29% increase in searches. Goa is not just known for its nightlife, but also for its beaches, cuisines, water sports, and luxurious resort stays. Talking about hill stations, places like Mahabaleshwar and Ooty are also seeing growing interest among families.
