The Union government recently launched the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This scheme aims at the redevelopment of the stations with improved and better facilities and amenities. The Centre for the Modernization and Upgrading of 1275 Railway Stations initiated the programme. Under this scheme, the railway infrastructure in eastern Bengaluru will also go through an update. Hence, about 15 Bengaluru stations are soon going to be beautified.
Bengaluru Stations To Be Beautified
Two significant railway stations, Krishnarajpuram and Whitefield, will soon be renovated as part of the effort from South Western Railway (SWR). These two stations on the Bengaluru-Jolarpettai Junction line will be included in the development of a total of 15 stations for the Bengaluru division. (As per a report by The Times Now)
Under this facelift, lifts, parking areas, escalators, restrooms, and beautification of the station will all be included. The platforms will be upgraded, and many other facilities will be added to help the passengers and make their travel smoother. Escalators and lifts are some of the much needed improvements.
