Ahmedabad people, brace yourselves to welcome and ride on the metro in your city very soon! The starting of the 40-km long Ahmedabad metro is great news and a grand gift during the Navaratri celebration. With 2 routes, this project took a budget of approximately ₹12,500 crores as of now. As per reports, the metro may start running in the upcoming couple of weeks. Once it starts functioning, the metro aims to cover 32 stations in a 40-km long route.
This 40-Km Long Ahmedabad Metro Will Have 2 Routes:
This project of Ahmedabad metro also has 4 stations that will be part of an underground route of 6.6 km. The 2 routes of this metro are:
- 18.89 km of Vasna–Motera route covering 15 stations
- 14.53 km of Vastral-Thaltej route covering 13 stations

1. Vasna–Motera Route
In just 38 minutes, passengers can reach one end of the metro to the station at the other end. Vasna-Motera route of Ahmedabad metro consists of these 15 stations:

- Old High Court
- Usmanpura
- Vijayanagar
- Vadaj
- Ranip
- Sabarmati Railway Station

2. Vastral-Thaltej Route
The second route will pass through 13 stations covering 14.53 km. These stations are-

3. Underground Route
There are 4 stations on the underground route and the journey from one point to another will take about 40 minutes. The 4 stations are-

The ticket fare for the Ahmedabad metro will be different for different stations starting from ₹5 and the highest fare is ₹25. All the various ticket prices at different stations are in multiples of 5; ₹5, ₹10, ₹15, ₹20, and ₹25. The time required to cover 1 station and reach the next is 1.5 minutes. The trains running at a speed of 80 km per hour on this route will have 3 coaches and about 1,000 passengers can use this mode of transportation. 40,000 passengers can travel on this metro on average every day.
