Bengaluru’s Namma Yellow Line To Open Soon; 16 Stations Confirmed
Bengaluru’s much-awaited Namma Metro Yellow Line, which will connect RV Road to Bommasandra, is finally nearing completion. After multiple delays for various reasons, the new line is expected to open by the end of July or early August, as per a report by Times Now. This line will have 16 stations and will pass through major areas like Jayadeva Hospital, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City.
The full route will cover 19.15 km and is expected to ease congestion and make the commute easier for many residents in the southern tech belt. Bangalore Metro Updates also uploaded a video showing its trial runs on their X account.
Currently, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has only 3 trains ready. These Yellow Line trains will run every 25 minutes and stop at every station. Since these are driverless trains, special safety approvals are needed. As per the report, the signalling system has been tested, and the safety certification (ISA) is expected by July 7 or 8. After that, the Metro Safety Commissioner will inspect the full line, stations, and tracks from July 15. This inspection might take around 3-4 days.

Final Civil Works Complete
BMRCL has confirmed that civil works, including all 16 elevated stations across the Yellow Line, are now complete. As per The Economic Times, the interior finishing, platform installations, passenger amenities, and communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling systems are fully in place.
The metro, now in its final safety check stages, might soon open to the public. Its inauguration might be held at the KSRP Grounds near Silk Board, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend, as per Times Now. Authorities are still evaluating passenger demand and other key factors. If all goes to plan, they might add more trains later to run more frequently during peak hours. This new line will surely help ease travel for lakhs of commuters.
