Manali-Leh Highway Is Accessible To Tourists After Months. Finally!
It has been quite a few months since this important highway connecting Manali in Himachal Pradesh with Leh was closed to the public and visitors. Resuming transportation is a massive decision taken as this 427 km highway is a significant highway to connect Ladakh to different parts of India. The road was only open for necessary times, according to a report by Outlook India. And now after a pause of a long time, the highway is open for all. The Border Roads Organisation approved the reopening of the road on 22 May 2023. The Border Roads Organisation nodded yes to the road in 138 days.

Ever since road transportation began on the highway, more and more vehicles are being seen here. On the first day after resuming, there were about 407 vehicles there. All kinds of vehicles will be able to continue their journey on this highway from 1 June 2023.
Here Are Some Guidelines To Keep In Mind While Travelling On This Road:
A few rules and regulations are getting implemented on the Manali-Leh highway so that everyone experiences a proper journey without facing any chaos or traffic jam. There is an odd-even system that helps to follow a specific journey on specific dates. People travelling to Baralacha-Manali from Leh will travel on odd dates in May. And the ones planning to travel to Leh from Manali will travel on the even dates of May.
Commercial vehicles can travel to Sarchu-Manali from Darcha from 9:30 AM to 12 PM. The timing for 4×4 cars and trucks on this route starts at 6 AM till 8:30 AM.
