If you often check multiple apps to book the cheapest taxi to save some money, Rapido’s upcoming service will help you greatly! According to The Financial Express, Rapido will launch a shared taxi service at the Bengaluru Airport to give riders a pocket-friendly taxi option. The service, reportedly, is expected to go live early next year.

Rapido’s co-founder Aravind Sanka shared this news while addressing the crowd at the EV & Future of Mobility session at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024. It is worth noting that Rapido already has an auto-pooling service in Bengaluru. Now, with this new service, they will be extending this shared offering to airport taxis as well.

Hailing a ride from busy airports like Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is quite a task. One can end up waiting for long hours and with an even longer bill while booking a cab from the airport. Aravind Sanka said that Rapido’s new taxi pooling service can help solve this problem and save people from “paying thousands of rupees for private trips.”

He believes that one vehicle can serve more than two customers. This way, transportation will become affordable and more accessible to the masses. Aravind feels this is the “best way to achieve affordability without adding new infrastructure” and simply optimising and sharing the resources already in use, The Financial Express reported.
