A horse carrying a groom during the baraat ceremony is a common sight in an Indian wedding. But have you ever seen a groom arriving on an electric scooter? Well, a Bengaluru groom decided to opt for an electric scooter instead of a horse during his baraat recently. His unique twist to the tradition has garnered a lot of attention online and people are applauding his move to go the eco-friendly route.

Bengaluru resident and an industrial designer at Ather Energy, Darshan Patel got married over the last weekend. For his big day, he decided to opt for an electric scooter to make his baraat entry instead of a horse. He was seen driving an Ather Rizta EV scooter and was spotted happily dancing on it with the baraatis.
Horses trot, but we prefer the watt. 🛵💨 For a wedding day that’s truly keen, ride Ather and keep it clean! #RiztaWaliBaraat

The video and photos of this unique baraat were shared by Ather’s co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta on his X (formerly Twitter) account. In his post, he explained how Darshan wanted to make his baraat entry on the electric scooter. So, like a good boss and team, they got together to arrange the scooter for him to make his grand entrance. Ather’s official X (formerly Twitter) also commented on this post.
